Ambode signs a Gender Pact with Women in Lagos State
On Wednesday 8th April 2015, the then Lagos APC Gubernatorial Candidate Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode signed a Gender Pact at a Civil Society Dialogue in Lagos State. The meeting was attended by key CSO’s and representatives of women groups in Lagos State. The Civil Society Dialogue was facilitated through a collaborative effort between some members of the National Gender Dialogue group ie NNGO, Enough is Enough and Women Advocates Research & Documentation Centre led by Ms. Yemisi Ransome Kuti, Ms Yemi Adamolekun and Dr Abiola Akiyode Afolabi respectively.
The event was a follow up to the earlier held Accountability Forum in Lagos at the Sheraton Hotel on the 4th of March 2015 for all Gubernatorial Candidates. This was organised by Women Advocates Research and Documentation Center (WARDC), Vanguard Newspaper and the STV with support from the Voices for Change programme.
In signing the PACT, Mr. Ambode has joined the other gubernatorial candidates, who had earlier signed the Pact in committing to the twelve point demand for women in Lagos State.
