On the 25th of November 2014, which also marked the International Day for the Eradication of Violence Against Women, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa participated in the inaugural SHE Forum Africa, where Founder-President H.E. Mrs. Toyin Saraki delivered the keynote address and discussed the ways in which redefining feminism can protect women around the world from violence, while highlighting the need for young girls can be empowered to become change agents.

A gender conference organized by Premium Logic’s Friendraiser Community, the SHE Forum Africa took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja FCT, and brought together 200 women from multi-generations across Africa, including Amina Salihu, Onyeka Onwenu, and actress Kate Henshaw, to identify persisting gender issues hindering the growth and productivity of women in local communities. Also present at the event were Haj. Aisha Babangida, Anne Okigbo, Folake Agunbiade and other influential women.

Themed “Gender in Equality – Redefining Feminism,” the maiden SHE Forum, hosted by Ms. Inimfon Etuk, achieved its vision of redefining and articulating new and current gender priorities and mapping out contemporary strategies of addressing them. Read More
